Empowering underrepresented voices

Do you have what it takes to drive positive change in your community?

Impact Hub and adidas have partnered to support impact-oriented entrepreneurs who are from and/or work with underrepresented communities and are addressing challenges in education and sport.

Close the Gap is designed to empower businesses that are led by underrepresented entrepreneurs, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), and changemakers who are supporting diverse populations to close the opportunity gap through education and/or sports.

To encourage and create change on a local level we will support 30 early-stage social start-ups, non-profit organizations, or initiatives across Germany, the US, and around the world to launch or develop their venture.

This will be done by providing tailored virtual support, expert advice, and networking opportunities in a flexible 3-month format.

If you have an idea and are looking to take it to the next level, then this is for you!

Successful applicants will receive:

Expert business advice and coaching from adidas’ employees.
Visibility of venture among the Impact Hub and adidas network.
A Free Global Connect Membership and access to the Impact Hub network.

Before applying you should read the Terms & Conditions.

A jury consisting of social impact experts from Impact Hub and adidas will select the 30 participating ventures based on the following criteria:

  • Equity – The proposed idea is led by underrepresented entrepreneurs or is supporting diverse populations.
  • Innovation – The proposed solution is developing an impact-driven business that can re-design an existing system.
  • Impact – The proposed solution will have a measurable positive impact on the local community and will work towards closing the opportunity gap.

Early-stage entrepreneurs who are from and/or work with underrepresented communities and BIPOC that have an idea or startup that will create a positive impact in the following areas:

Education (mentorship, equity, skills training, job readiness, economic empowerment)
Sport (performance, training, good health, fitness, access to sport and safety equipment, positive impact on the lives of athletes)

We are looking for a total of 30 participants who are fluent in English or German and willing to commit a minimum of one hour per week to connect with their mentors throughout the duration of the program.

Before applying you should read the Terms & Conditions.
